Profile Information

About Me:: I just graduated from Indiana University (Dec'07) with a degree in Graphic Design... So I am now a starving artist... ; )

My DESIGN interests:
I live and BREATHE design in allll forms. It's my Heartbeat!.. I've been designing as a student/novice/entry-level designer for over 8 years. Specifically my thing is Print Design. I like things you can touch and feel and fold and sense and that you can TASTE the influence of the designer in.. Not just the message of the client.... Right Now, I'm working on freelancing and portfolio-building SPECIFICALLY and taking a break from the non-design category known as "it all" until I find my place in the field in the next year or two.. : )

My ART interests:
I'm an artist HARDCORE... In the last 5+ years I've taught myself to be a photographer (an ever-growing process), and that has now become the second title on my business card! I'm also sommmmewhat of an illustrator, a painter, and developing into a spray-painter/graffitti-esque artist as well (just canvas-based. Haha). My illustration/painting styles are more POP-y and graphic than a lot of other artists, although if you read Juxtapoz Mag... It's VERY similar. Hehe..... Fortunately, it all fits perfectly into my love of modern counter-culture / POP/ subculture/ street-art/ and alterna-art!!! I'm also a BIG FAN of glass art and lighting art (neon, etc.). When I'm not designing, I'm doing/looking at something from the above categories. : )

To put this all much more simply... Usually when I fill-in-the-blanks on those career thingys, I put that I'm a Graphic Artist, Photographer, & Creative Explorer! I think that works. : )

What inspires your creativity?: EVERYTHING! Right now though, I'm feeling inspired by seeing work done by people who work in both the graphic art world AND painting (especially spray paint). I'm reading Juxtapoz a lot lately. : )
